In this episode we’re talking with Tonya Fuhrmann, the director of the Montana Youth Diabetes Alliance. MYDA runs the only summer camp for kids with type 1 diabetes in the state of Montana.
MYDA’s mission is to enrich the lives of youth with Type 1 Diabetes and their families while offering safe, fun, and educational opportunities through camps and other events. The camp provides financial assistance for out-of-pocket expenses associated with self-management supplies and networking resources to navigate diabetes-related support systems.

Wins & Fails
Jessie’s Win: She didn’t have any lows or extreme highs during an all-day rugby tournament. Her team went from 9th to 4th place overall!
Colleen’s Fail: It’s taking me a while to get back into a regular eating plan after getting back from my long road trip.
Tip of the Week
If you are playing a sport and you know you have to take off your pump, have your coach or coach’s assistant hold your pump. It can take your mind off worrying about the responsibility of holding something so important.
