Colleen’s Win: I figured out how to bolus for some different food I’m eating coming off of my elimination and reintroduction diet, and it’s partly related to the hack. I ended up bolusing for total carbs plus a percentage of protein, about 30 minutes before eating, and that seemed to do the trick.
Jessie’s Fail: She forgot to write down when she last changed out her insulin site, which affects her record of how fast she goes through supplies.
Tip of the Week
An oldie but a goodie: pre-bolusing for your meals. It lets the insulin start working before the carbohydrates hit the system, which means you’ll preempt a spike in your blood sugar—or, at least, a big spike. I still pre-bolus even though I eat low carb, because every bit helps keep my number flat and steady.
